Growing Closer...
"Growing clower to God and each other" is a statement you find mentioned on our website. You will see it
on our bulletin and even hear it in sermons. It is not an attempt to create a motto or some advertizing slogan. It is a genuine, heartfelt
statement that sums up our Christian responsibilities.
Can you imagine any pursuit better than striving to live a life of love?
This world is in such desperate need of it! I am not talking about the emotional, romantic love many people confuse for religion.
I am talking about the love which is patient and kind. I am discussing the kind of love that keeps no record of wrongs, that does
not envy or become jealous when others succeed--love that the Bible describes all through its pages.
Our aim is to learn to develop
that love as much as possible. That comes through knowledge and understanding. It comes through appreciation of God and appreciation
of fellow human beings. It comes as we learn to govern our lives by the word of God. After all, Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep
My commandments" (John 14:15).
Let us know how we can help you increase in love and good works. Let us know if you have questions
about the Bible. Come grow with us as we grow closer to God and each other!

Men, we need you today more than ever. We need your strength and confidence. We need your leadership. We need godly men who are not
afraid of the waves of the armies of darkness found in our society.
This sermon, "The Role of the Husband" addresses the need
society and the church has for godly leaders. It begins with some quotations from researchers who blast American men. These are to
illustrate that the world is crying out for strong men! In spite of the slight criticism in the beginning, this sermon is encouraging.
It explains and illustrates the role God created for men. We should celebrate masculinity, not try to make people ashamed of
it. God created men with abilities and these need to be acknowledged.
"Bible Connection" is a series of short meditations of daily thought and devotion. They are designed to encourage us in practical
matters. Here is an example of these. They can befound on the link below or in our "Bible Lessons" page under "Articles"
Bible Connection:
Love
In Mark 12:33-34, Jesus said that the greatest commandment in the Bible is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and
strength. The second greatest commandment is to love our neighbors as ourselves. Love is what defines Christians. In John 13:35, Jesus
said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
As we go through our day, let us remember
to treat others as we want to be treated—to be considerate of others around us and show them we care. After all, this is the second
greatest thing we can do in life.
Let us also remember God. Let us try to love Him as He has loved us. If you would like help with
this or other Bible-related matters, please contact us for free information.
