Bible Connection: Wisdom

The book of Proverbs personifies wisdom as a woman of elegance and strength. In Proverbs 2:1-5 Solomon tells his readers that we can only find wisdom and the fear of the Lord with effort. Notice these descriptions of the efforts at finding wisdom: receive, treasure, incline, apply, cry out, lift up, seek, and search. If we will do these things only then will we find the knowledge of God.

Here are a few ideas to help in that. (1) Set a regular time for study. (2) Have some plan of action. (3) Ask questions. (4) Seek for answers. (5) Make application—what does the passage teach?
